6 Days Budget/Camping Safari – Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, home to some of the largest elephant populations in East Africa. The park is also known for its dramatic baobab trees and the life-giving Tarangire River that attracts a variety of wildlife.

Enjoy a game drive followed by evening relaxation and overnight stay at a nearby campsite.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands. Enjoy a scenic drive and stop at viewpoints for photos. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin your first game drive in the park’s central region—home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and more.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day exploring the endless plains of Serengeti, renowned for hosting one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles—the Great Wildebeest Migration (depending on the season).

Track prides of lions, spot leopards lazing in trees, and admire giraffes browsing acacia trees. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the wild before continuing the adventure.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Later, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional stops at Maasai villages or Olduvai Gorge (entry fee extra). Reach the crater rim by evening and set up camp at Simba Campsite, overlooking the crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara

Enjoy a half-day game drive across the crater floor, where you may see lions, elephants, hippos, flamingos, and more. After lunch, drive to Mto wa Mbu near Lake Manyara for your final night of camping.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

Following the game drive and a picnic lunch, return to Arusha by late afternoon, marking the end of your adventure.
